CPTRAX Updates in 2011

Last Update

Description

2011.12.13

CPTRAX for Windows

[NEW]
New functionality to track changes made to Active Directory. Active Directory tracking will be licensed separately from Logon Logoff tracking and File System tracking. It will allow you to create profiles to instruct the agent as to which Object Classes in Active Directory you wish to monitor. Active Directory tracking will have the same reporting and alerting options as the existing Logon Logoff and File System tracking components.

[NEW]
Local File System tracking on Windows 2008 server. Previously, CPTRAX would only track File System activity on Windows 2008 Servers over network shares. The agent can now track File System activity performed locally at the server (including Remote Desktop sessions - these run as local processes on the server).

2011.06.15

CPTRAX for Windows

[UPDATE]
Updated cptrax_console.exe to prevent the report window from closing unexpectedly when using OTF Batch File mode.

2011.03.17

CPTRAX for Windows

2011.02.18

CPTRAX for Windows

[UPDATE]
Updated CPTW_K64.SYS for a customer that was having a conflict with VMWare and the default Intel NIC driver.

2011.01.19

CPTRAX for Windows

[NEW]
Added 'Stop Report' button to custom reports with a runtime rule. This will allow you to stop a report before it has finished.

[UPDATE]
Runtime rules based on date/time will now only scan the log files that fall within the scope of the specified search. This will allow runtime rules based on date/time to process as quickly as regular rules.

[UPDATE]
We discovered that remotely deleting a registry key (profiles, custom reports, scheduled reports, etc) on Windows Server 2008 R2 required using a different method than previous versions of Windows Server. With previous versions of CPTRAX, you would get a popup error indicating that you could not remotely delete the key even if you had sufficient privileges. If you ran the CPTRAX Console directly on the server, the problem was not encountered. This update now addresses the added security in Windows Server 2008 R2 and will allow you to remotely delete these items through the CPTRAX Console.

[FIX]
Corrected a problem that was happening with one customer that occurred when tracking permission changes on a file. When the problem was encountered, the CPTRAX agent would stop. This problem has been fixed and verified by the customer having the problem.
